M.Sc. Student’s English Proficiency Test

ภาควิิชาคณิตศาสตร์และวิทยาการคอมพิวเตอร์ คณะวิทยาศาสตร์

All applicants are required to take English proficiency test, except native speakers, of CU-TEPTOEFL, or IELTS) according to the following criteria:

  1. reject if the score is less than 30 (400 for TOEFL or 3.0 for IELTS)
  2. conditionally admit if the score starts from 30 (400 for TOEFL or 3.0 for IELTS) but is less than 45 (450 for TOEFL or 4.0 for IELTS), based on the following conditions:
    • (2.1) if the score is less than 38 (425 for TOEFL or 3.5 for IELTS), the student must take 5500 503 Preparatory English for Graduate Students and one of the following courses:
      5500 504  English Pronunciation and Conversation
      5500 505  Academic English Grammar
      5500 506  Academic English Vocabulary
      5500 510  Skills in English for Graduates
      The timeframe for the student to pass both classes follows the Graduate school announcement.
    • (2.2) if the score is from 38 (425 for TOEFL or 3.5 for IELTS) but is less than  45 (450 for TOEFL or 4.0 for IELTS), choose one of the following courses:
      5500 504  English Pronunciation and Conversation
      5500 505  Academic English Grammar
      5500 506  Academic English Vocabulary
      5500 510  Skills in English for Graduates
      The timeframe for the student to pass the class follows the Graduate school announcement.
    • (2.3) re-take the English test without taking (2.1) or (2.2) to get the score of 45 (450 for TOEFL or 4.0 for IELTS) or higher. The timeframe for the student to pass the test follows the Graduate school announcement.
  3. if the score is 450 or higher, no English requirements will be imposed.
