Mathematics (M.Sc. & Ph.D.)
Admission
Our department invites applications for admission to the Master’s and Doctoral programs in Mathematics twice annually. The application period for the fall semester is from February to April, and for the spring semester, it is from June to September.
Master Program
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any field and have completed at least 12 credits of mathematics courses.
- Applicants must have a CU-TEP score of at least 30, TOEFL score of at least 400, or IELTS score of at least 3.0. Admission is granted conditionally, requiring the applicant to retake and pass the English proficiency test or take English courses as specified. Without an English proficiency score, the registration office will not accept the initial enrollment.
- The Program Administration Committee must deem the applicant eligible for admission.
- Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a program recognized by the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education, or be in their final year of study.
- Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and have completed at least 12 credits of mathematics courses, or be deemed eligible by the Program Administration Committee.
- Applicants must have a CU-TEP score of at least 45, TOEFL score of at least 450, or IELTS score of at least 4.0.
Doctoral Program
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with at least second-class honors.
- Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Mathematics or equivalent.
- Applicants must have a CU-TEP score of at least 45, TOEFL score of at least 450, or IELTS score of at least 4.0. Admission is granted conditionally, requiring the applicant to retake and pass the English proficiency test or take English courses as specified. - Applicants must have a CU-TEP score of at least 60 or TOEFL score of at least 500.

Scope and sample exams
Proofs of theorems concerning sets, relations, functions, operations, real numbers.
