Master Program
The master’s degree in AMCS has two normal admission and one special admission.
Normal admission in Study plan 1 and plan 2.
- Graduated with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Applicants must have passed at least 11 credit hours of mathematics and/or computer science courses at the undergraduate level or equivalent.
- Applicants must have English proficiency test results (CU-TEP) from the Chulalongkorn University Academic Testing Center, taken within 2 years prior to the application date, with a CU-TEP score of at least 30, a TOEFL score of at least 400, or an IELTS score of at least 3.0. However, they must retake the test to meet the required score or enroll in English courses as specified in the announcement. If no English proficiency score is provided, the Registrar’s Office will not accept the initial registration.
- Applicants may be considered for admission by the program committee for that year on a case-by-case basis.
Special Admission
To be eligible for special admission, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent from a university recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI).
- Have a GPA of at least 3.25 for a bachelor’s degree or 3.75 for a master’s degree.
- Have passed at least 11 credit hours of mathematics and/or computer science courses at the undergraduate level or equivalent.
- Have a CU-TEP score of at least 60, a TOEFL score of at least 500, or an IELTS score of at least 5.0. The test results must be within 2 years of the application date.
- Be exempted from the English language requirement by Chulalongkorn University.
Additional requirement
- A curriculum vitae (CV) that includes the topic of the research proposal of interest.
- A letter of experience / a letter of recommendation from a teaching professor or project advisor, or from an educational institution (1 copy).
- A certificate or a portfolio of achievements and/or research articles (if available).
Doctoral Program
Program Types 1.1 and 2.1
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Have a master’s degree or equivalent.
- Have passed at least 11 credit hours of mathematics and/or computer science courses at the undergraduate level or equivalent.
- Must have English proficiency test results (CU-TEP) from the Chulalongkorn University Academic Testing Center taken within 2 years prior to the application date, with a CU-TEP score of at least 45, a TOEFL score of at least 450, or an IELTS score of at least 4.0. However, if the score does not meet the required criteria, the applicant must retake the test or enroll in English courses as specified in the announcement. If no English proficiency score is provided, the Registrar’s Office will not accept the initial registration.
- Be approved by the Program Committee.
- Meet the English language proficiency requirement set by the university.
Program Types 1.2 and 2.2
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Have passed at least 11 credit hours of mathematics and/or computer science courses at the undergraduate level or equivalent.
- Must have English proficiency test results (CU-TEP) from the Chulalongkorn University Academic Testing Center taken within 2 years prior to the application date, with a CU-TEP score of at least 45, a TOEFL score of at least 450, or an IELTS score of at least 4.0. However, if the score does not meet the required criteria, the applicant must retake the test or enroll in English courses as specified in the announcement. If no English proficiency score is provided, the Registrar’s Office will not accept the initial registration.
- Be approved by the Program Committee.
- Meet the English language proficiency requirement set by the university.
Additional requirement
- Graduated with a bachelor’s/master’s degree or equivalent, or currently studying in the final academic year of a program from a university accredited by the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC).
- For the bachelor’s level, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 is required, or for the master’s level, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75, or academic work from a thesis published in an international academic journal indexed in ISI or SCOPUS.
- Must have completed at least 11 credits in mathematics and/or computer science courses at the undergraduate level or equivalent, or have received approval from the Program Administrative Committee to be eligible for admission.
- Must present English proficiency test results (CU-TEP) from the Chulalongkorn University Academic Testing Center with a CU-TEP score of at least 60, or a TOEFL score of at least 500, or an IELTS score of at least 5.0 (test results are valid for 2 years). Alternatively, an exemption from English proficiency requirements may be granted at the time of entry and prior to graduation from Chulalongkorn University.
Special Admission

- A certificate, portfolio, and/or research articles (if available).
